About Me
Hello, I’m Matteo Vitturi
I am a Senior Application Operations Engineer at Capgemini based in the Venice area, Italy, with over 25 years of experience in technical analysis, application operations, and insurance systems.
After graduating with a degree in Economics from Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia in 2000, I built my career bridging business needs with robust technical solutions. I previously worked as an IT Technical Analyst at AIVE, where I focused on process automation and system integration.
My Passion: Forth & Retro Computing
Beyond my professional work, I have a deep and long-standing interest in low-level programming. Since 1990 I have been developing and maintaining vForth, a Forth system designed for the ZX Spectrum 48K and particularly optimized for the ZX Spectrum Next.
I actively contribute to the ZX Spectrum Next community through:
- Development of vforth-next, with full Z80N instruction set support and hardware integration (Layer 2, sprites, DMA, copper, sound, etc.)
- Technical articles published on the official SpecNext Developer HQ
- Videos and presentations on my YouTube channel @mttsteel
- Administering the Facebook group Forth on the ZX Spectrum, Next and 48K
I also maintain an interest in quantum computing and occasionally contribute to discussions on Quantum Computing Stack Exchange.
A Bit About Me
Born and raised in Venice, I served with the Lagunari (Italian amphibious troops) after high school before completing my university studies. I speak Italian, Venetian, English, and French.
When I’m not working or coding, you can often find me exploring new Forth techniques, experimenting with retro hardware, or playing guitar.
Feel free to explore my projects, vForth section, or connect with me on GitHub, LinkedIn, or X @mattsteel.
I’m always happy to discuss Forth, ZX Spectrum Next, or technical challenges in general.
